5. CSK vs RCB, Chennai, April 12, 2012:
If Kohli wants to forget something in his life, it would be his bowling performance against CSK in 2012. This was the only match between these two teams in 2012 as the other one was washed up by rain. Royal Challengers won the toss this time around, and they decided to bat first.
RCB was off to a solid start. Mayank Agarwal (45 off 26) was dismissed at 53-1 (he scored a vast majority of the runs) while Chris Gayle was a mere spectator for a change. Gayle and Kohli tied a great partnership between themselves, and both of them scored half-centuries. Although RCB’s middle order crumbled at the end, they still reached 205/8.

Faf du Plessis scored 71 runs and gave CSK the impetus they needed to chase a high total. CSK still required 43 runs off the last 2 overs, and everyone thought it’s all over. Kohli bowled the penultimate over, and Alie Morkel smashed him to all parts off the ground. He scored 27 runs off that over, and Bravo scored the winning runs in the final over.
- Man of the Match: Faf du Plessis
- Result: CSK won by 5 wickets
