Matthew Hayden was sensational for the Yellow Army. He struck 12 boundaries and 2 sixes during his classic knock of 81 runs, which came off 46 deliveries. Raina’s 53 (37) and Dhoni’s 30 (16) meant that Chennai Super Kings would cross the 200 run threshold, which would always be hard to chase.
In response, Mumbai Indians kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Robin Uthappa tried to anchor the run chase with his 43-run performance, but he lost his wicket. Abhishek Nayar gave his best attempt to secure the win for his local side. His unbeaten 45 came off just 20 balls, but he didn’t receive much support from the other end, and the Indians fell 6 runs short.
