2. MI vs CSK, Mumbai, April 7, 2018:
This match holds a special place in the heart of CSK fans. The MS Dhoni-led side faced a two-year ban from 2016-2017, and this was their first match after the ban. A lot of fans and critics wrote them off for having an aging side, but they didn’t take much time to prove their doubters wrong. MS Dhoni won the toss and decided that his side will field.
The Indian trio of Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, and Krunal Pandya batted well on a slightly different Wankhede pitch. Yadav (43) and Ishan (40) both constructed good innings, which lasted 29 balls a piece. Krunal’s explosive knock of 41 runs came off just 22 deliveries, and MI posted 165/4.

Hardik Pandya and Mayank Markande made sure CSK’s top-order batsmen were kept in check and picked up three wickets. It was time for another member of CSK’s “Dad’s Army” as Trinidadian all-rounder Dwayne Bravo scored 68 runs, including 7 maximums. CSK lost a few wickets towards the end but eventually won the match with 1 wicket.
