Big Bash League 2018-19 – Teams, Squads, Captains & Schedule

The Big Bash League 2018-19 is all set to begin on 19th December 2018. This is the 8th season of the domestic T20 tournament played in Australia. Adelaide Strikers are the defending champions as they defeated Hobart Hurricanes in the final of Big Bash League 2017-18 at Adelaide Oval on 4th February 2018. With a total of 59 matches being played, the fans will be excited to find out the Big Bash Predictions as the league progresses.

Travis Head will be leading the Adelaide Strikers in this season of the BBL and the side will be coached by Jason Gillespie

Big Bash 2018 Winners – Adelaide Strikers

The batsmen included in this squad are – Alex Carey (wk), Colin Ingram, Matthew Short, Jake Weatherald, Jonathan Wells.

Here are the all-rounders in this squad – Jake Lehmann, Michael Neser, Cameron Valente.

The bowling unit comprises of Wes Agar, David Grant, Michel Cormack, Ben Laughlin, Liam O Connor, Rashid Khan, Peter Siddle, Billy Stanlake, and Nick Winter.

Adelaide Oval will be the home ground for Adelaide Strikers.

 

Brisbane Heat

Brendon McCullum will be the captain for Brisbane Heat in the BBL 2018-19 and Daniel Vettori will be the coach of the team. The Gabba will be the home ground for Brisbane Heat.

Schedule and Format

One thing that is different in this season of the Big Bash League is that there will be more rounds and more matches as the tournament will be played in a double round-robin format. The 8 teams will play each other twice and a total of 14 rounds will be played in the league stage.

The 1st semi-final is scheduled to be played on 14th February, and the 2nd semi-final on 15th February and the final will be held on 17th February 2019.

56 league stage matches, 2 semi-finals and 1 final packing a whole lot of entertainment for the fans and betting opportunities for the punters. A non-stop cricket for fans and punters alike is guaranteed from 19th December 2018 to 17th February 2019.

There will be 4 matches in every round of the league. The first round starts on 19th December as Brisbane Heat takes on the defending champions Adelaide Strikers at their home ground, The Gabba.
